Every Year, Just Get Better: Celebrating 35 Years of the Brickhat Fantasy Football League with Custom Playing Cards

For over three decades, the Brickhat Fantasy Football League (BFFL) has been more than just a competition—it’s been a brotherhood built on tradition, camaraderie, and an undying love for the game. This year, as the league celebrated its 35th anniversary, Commissioner Christopher Hatton wanted to do something truly special for the twelve owners who have helped shape the BFFL into what it is today.

The result? A custom-designed deck of Brickhat Fantasy Football League playing cards, crafted in collaboration with Shuffled Ink.

A Gift That Honors 35 Years of Fantasy Football History

Every year, the BFFL hosts a live, in-person draft weekend complete with their annual Texas Hold ’Em tournament—so a custom deck of cards was the perfect way to mark the milestone.

“I wanted a celebratory gift for each of the owners and a way to honor our history through a graphical representation,” Christopher explained. “I’ve been keeping photos and records for 35 years, so the idea of putting 52 images on 52 cards was incredibly exciting.”

Working closely with our creative team here at Shuffled Ink, Christopher was able to integrate decades of BFFL memories and the logos of all twelve league teams into the card design. The finished product wasn’t just a deck—it was a visual time capsule of the league’s journey.

The Big Reveal: A Standing Ovation from the League

The BFFL members were blown away when the decks were unveiled during their draft weekend.

“EVERYONE who saw the decks was amazed,” Christopher said. “We introduced them at the Texas Hold ’Em tournament, and the crowd went wild! It was the perfect gift for such a special moment in our league’s history.”

One of the decks will now serve as the official “Anniversary Deck” at future tournaments. The winner of the final table will get to sign a card of their choice—a new BFFL tradition born from this commemorative project.
