Stogies for Servicemen: A Custom Card Deck Built to Support Deployed Heroes

Launched with the heartfelt purpose of lifting the spirits and morale of deployed troops around the world, Stogies for Servicemen sends curated care packages filled with premium cigars, personal notes, and small comforts that serve as a tangible link to home and appreciation from those who support them.

And for its founder Shaun, one of the most meaningful components of this effort has become a custom deck of cards printed through Shuffled Ink – a gift that helps bridge the distance between military service and civilian gratitude.

 

A Deck With Purpose: More Than Just Cards

The official title of the project, Stogies for Servicemen, reflects the heart of its mission. Instead of being a game or a product for sale, this custom deck is distributed exclusively in care packages sent overseas to active duty personnel. The goal isn’t retail success – it’s connection, comfort, and a reminder that deployed soldiers are remembered and appreciated. 

Shaun explained that the deck grew from a simple idea: “To send our logo to soldiers in a cool format.” Rather than a typical sticker or patch, playing cards offered something all service members could use – whether passing time, making new connections, or simply feeling a moment of normalcy in an unfamiliar place.

Shaun shared that he simply provided his logo to the Shuffled Ink team and left the rest to their creative expertise. “I sent in my logo and Charles took it from there and killed it,” he said, highlighting how smooth and collaborative the process was. Along with printing these decks, Shuffled Ink also donates a few every year! 

This trust paid off with a high-quality deck that looks great, feels sturdy, and delivers on the mission of bringing something meaningful – and usable – to its recipients.

Pride in Every Package

For Shaun, seeing the finished cards for the first time was an emotional moment. His reaction? “Pure pride.” Knowing that these cards –  created with intention and quality – would be packed into care packages and sent across the world to soldiers serving in challenging conditions brought a profound sense of fulfillment.

These decks do more than carry a logo. They represent a community’s support and gratitude for those who stand watch on behalf of others.
